Role Description
As a Performance Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in a highly specialized team that facilitates IT change across our business spectrum. Your primary responsibilities will include the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive performance testing activities on various applications and systems. You will be expected to gain a deep understanding of our core IT systems and processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality test engineering solutions aligned with non-functional requirements and new changes. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with developers to integrate performance testing into continuous integration and delivery pipelines, facilitating early feedback in the development cycle and enhancing overall testing processes and strategy within IT. Operating within an Agile/Scrum framework, you are expected to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adhering to timelines, and communicating effectively while employing innovative thinking.

Requirements
- Experience in web application performance testing across multiple protocols (HTTPS/HTML, SMTP/POP, FTP, TCP/IP, XML/SOAP) with a focus on delivering robust and scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in J-meter performance test script capture and editing using BeanShell scripting or Groovy/similar.
- Skilled in the use of monitoring and alerting configuration tools such as App Dynamics or similar.
- Agile/DevOps experience with a deep understanding of testing best practices and performance toolsets (J-meter, Taurus, Gatling, K9, etc.).
- Basic proficiency in Linux OS, including the use of in-built performance tools, text editors, and monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience in Oracle databases and database performance analysis using basic SQL skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex system architectures.
- Understanding of server-level application configuration and network protocols.
