Project & Role Description
Governance Risk and Control is looking highly motivated individual to undertake an Engineering Excellence Lead role.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead on Engineering Excellence across GRC
- Providing an anchor role across engineers managing and mentoring engineering resource on best practices
- Provides value during production incidents even for things that they haven't necessarily been involved in coding
- Subject Matter Expertise in an area such as: devops, security, accessibility, agile, production governance etc
- Ability to break down a programme of work into manageable deliveries
Key skills required:
- Someone who can think few steps forward of technology and guide the team or department to a new direction
- Someone who isn't just a specialist in one domain (e.g. just networks); we prefer generalists, who can apply their thinking to many problem
- Researches new tech / processes and is the driving force to adopt them
- Demonstrates mastery of their technical discipline
- Contributes to architecture by asking the right questions to ensure architecture matches business needs for the area
- Someone who can communicate with code
- Continuously improves themselves and their team
- Communicate ideas succinctly. Ability to communicate technical big picture vision, strategy and direction
- Someone who can explain technology well to business people or senior managers such that they buy into a technology direction
