Your responsibilities

  • Support the accounts payable team in the Shared Services Center with questions about travel and time recording, including communication with employees in Germany and local service providers
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts according to IFRS for Germany
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet items and accrual of accounts
  • Preparation of annual financial statements in cooperation with external consultants and support with audits
  • Coordination of tax reports, legal disclosure obligations of annual financial statements as well as support in company and social security audits
  • Submission of local advance VAT returns and notification to the Deutsche Bundesbank
  • Analysis and documentation of the payroll tax treatment of non-cash benefits and ancillary employee costs
  • Analysis for the determination of key figures

Employer requirements

  • Fluent German min. C1
  • Very good English min. B2/C1
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance/accounting in an accounting function in a German, international company
  • A qualification as a tax clerk or financial accountant or university degree in accounting and/or a related discipline
  • Secure application of German tax regulations
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Very good Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Good organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in teams, under pressure and within deadlines
  • Demonstrating a good understanding of financial accounting, reporting and internal control is an advantage
  • Willingness for international travel activities - is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, powerpoint, SAP or Concur
  • Personal responsibility, independent and proactive work, interaction with stakeholders at all levels, experience of working in an international professional environment
