Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - Transmission Line
Company: Our client is a multinational company specializing in global design, engineering, and consulting services, with a diverse portfolio including award-winning brands. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Transmission Line Engineer to join the global team and contribute to the operations in Poland.
Position Summary: As a Senior Electrical Transmission Line Engineer, you will be responsible for designing overhead high voltage transmission lines, with a focus on lines of 400 kV and below. You will utilize your expertise to develop transmission line plans, select optimal routes, conductors, and accessories, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. This role requires proficiency in specialized software and advanced technologies, as well as the ability to interpret LIDAR data and oversee testing procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Design overhead high voltage transmission lines, adhering to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop transmission line plans and profiles, select line routes, conductors, and accessories.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, particularly EN 50341 and IEC 60826.
- Utilize specialized software, such as PLS-CADD, for transmission line design and analysis.
- Import and interpret LIDAR data to inform design decisions and optimize line routes.
- Stay updated on advanced technologies, such as High Temperature Low Sag Conductors, and incorporate them into designs where applicable.
- Oversee Factory Acceptance and Site Testing Requirements for conductors, insulators, and hardware.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years' experience in the design of overhead high voltage transmission lines, with a focus on lines of 400 kV and below.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University
- Proficiency in transmission line design principles, including conductor selection, sag tension calculations, tower layouts, and insulation coordination.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, particularly EN 50341 and IEC 60826.
- Experience with specialized transmission line software, such as PLS-CADD.
- Ability to import and interpret LIDAR data for design optimization.
- Proficiency in both Polish and English languages.
- Knowledge of Factory Acceptance and Site Testing Requirements for transmission line components.
- Experience in HVDC Overhead Lines and/or Underground and Submarine High Voltage HVAC/HVDC cables is an added advantage.
