We are currently seeking a Senior Kong Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team of our client. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in Kong Gateway, hands-on experience with Kubernetes, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure. You’ll play a key role in scaling and operating an API platform across hybrid cloud environments.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience with Kong Gateway, including at least 1 year with Kong Konnect in production

Previous experience as part of a platform engineering or infrastructure team

In-depth understanding of API management, REST APIs, and microservices architecture

Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, particularly with managing ingress and services via Kong Gateway

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows

Solid understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT

Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python)

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Fluent in both English and Polish (minimum B2 level)
