Company: Our client is an international corporation focusing on worldwide design, engineering, and advisory solutions, encompassing a varied array of renowned brands. Presently, we're in search of a seasoned Senior Substations Primary Circuits Engineer to become part of our global team and enhance our activities in Poland.
Position Summary: As a Senior Substations Primary Circuits Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing cutting-edge Air Insulated (AIS) and Gas Insulated (GIS) Transmission and Distribution Substations. Your expertise will help us elevate our infrastructure to new heights, ensuring reliability and efficiency in our electrical networks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process of both AIS and GIS substations, focusing on high and medium voltage levels (400/220 kV and 110/15 kV).
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications, including primary circuits single line diagrams, substation layouts and sections, insulation coordination, and earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Perform complex design calculations for short circuit forces, burden calculations, and sizing of auxiliary components.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers to integrate critical parameters into substation designs effectively.
- Ensure all designs meet the latest IEC and IEEE codes and standards.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required;
- At least 5 years of experience in substation design, covering both AIS and GIS technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Strong knowledge of substation and substation equipment codes (IEC, IEEE).
- Fluent in both Polish and English.
- Experience with reactive compensation systems and familiarity with Factory Acceptance and Site Testing Requirements of substation equipment.
- Additional experience with HVDC Converter Stations and various busbar configurations will be considered an asset.
