We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Gas Trader to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our natural gas trading portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make strategic trading decisions under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute trading strategies to maximize profits from natural gas trading activities.
· Monitor and analyze market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and price movements to inform trading decisions.
· Manage the daily trading operations, including buying, selling, and hedging natural gas positions.
· Conduct risk management activities, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating market risks.
· Collaborate with the analytics team to develop models and tools for market analysis and forecasting.
· Maintain and build relationships with key market participants, including suppliers, customers, and brokers.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
· Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on trading performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are preferred.
· A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in natural gas trading or a related commodity trading role.
· Proven track record of success in trading and managing a profitable portfolio.
· In-depth knowledge of natural gas markets, including market structures, trading platforms, and regulatory environments.
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market signals.
· Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
· Proficient in trading software and tools, such as Excel, VBA, SQL, and market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
