Elasticsearch Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Elasticsearch Engineer to join an international technology team working on a large-scale platform focused on advanced analytics, Big Data, and cloud-native solutions within the financial services domain.
The role is part of a globally distributed setup with teams located across Europe and Asia, operating in an Agile environment with regular releases and strong engineering standards.
Project Overview
The project focuses on building and maintaining a Big Data and analytics platform that leverages Elasticsearch, AI technologies, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support intelligence-driven analysis and investigation processes. The platform is used by analysts, investigators, and data specialists operating at global scale.
The technology stack includes Elasticsearch, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, with an ongoing transition towards cloud-native solutions on GCP, including Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
Your Responsibilities

Implement, configure, and upgrade Elasticsearch clusters

Provide L2/L3 production support for business users and development teams

Support development pods with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and operational issues

Assist in the migration of Elasticsearch from on-premises environments to the cloud

Collaborate closely with engineers, DevOps, and platform teams in an Agile setup
Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Elasticsearch (acting as an SME)

Good knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem

Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices (Scrum / Kanban)

Experience using Jira and Confluence

Very good communication skills in English (discussion, collaboration, presentations)
Nice to Have

Experience with Scala and Apache Spark

Knowledge of JUnit, TDD, BDD

Experience with RHEL / shell scripting / regex

Understanding of Clean Code principles, SOLID, KISS, DRY, and design patterns
