Ladies and Gentlemen,

Before you is the first report comprehensively describing the startup support ecosystem in Poland. This publication is an attempt to describe and classify the Polish startup acceleration environment in the perspective of other possibilities for supporting and financing such enterprises. The report outlines the development trajectory of innovative entities, their needs, and ways to meet them. According to the latest PFR Ecosystem Map, Poland can boast of over 3,300 startups. This figure is impressive, especially considering that the vast majority of them are young companies that have recently entered the market and are gaining recognition in a short period.

The shaping of the sector is influenced by many external and internal factors. After a period of dynamic growth triggered by the pandemic, the current global economic-political situation, which does not favor risk-taking by investors, has led to a decline in startup funding worldwide. In the Polish startup ecosystem, the needs of companies at early stages of development are diverse and often influenced by individual experiences and the specific nature of the industry. Interviews conducted with startup founders, business mentors, and representatives of institutions supporting startups have identified common areas and related needs that shape this ecosystem. These areas include funding, education, international market entry, as well as networking and team building.

We invite you to delve into the report, which sheds light on the acceleration of the Polish innovation ecosystem.

Yours sincerely,

Adam Iwan
