The FMCG sector, an essential component of sales and marketing, supplies stores with essential goods such as food, beverages, cleaning products, and cosmetics, which are quickly sold due to their low prices. The constant demand for these products makes the FMCG sector resilient to market crises and plays a crucial role in sales and marketing.
Average salaries in the FMCG sector
According to the latest Antal Salary Report, the average salary for the entire sales and marketing industry is PLN 14,881 gross per month. The FMCG sector is characterized by a variety of positions, and salaries depend on several factors. For instance, a Key Account Manager in sales can expect a salary range of PLN 8,000 – 12,000 gross, while a sales director earns an average salary of PLN 15,000 – 25,000 gross per month. International companies generally offer higher salaries and a broader range of benefits compared to local firms.

The FMCG sector in Poland is developing dynamically, and salaries in this sector reflect the growing demands and competitiveness of the market. Companies are looking for specialists who can significantly contribute to their success by offering attractive salaries and a wide range of benefits, adds Agnieszka Niebutkowska, Sector Manager & Team Leader at Antal Sales & Marketing.
Rising demand for specialists and the key drivers behind it
Currently, the highest demand in the FMCG sector is for positions that have a direct impact on the financial results and market share growth of the company. Sales specialists, such as Key Account Managers, as well as export and marketing experts, are highly valued. Central Poland remains the main recruitment hub due to the high concentration of companies and access to a broad pool of candidates, although this trend is slowly changing.
Increasingly, companies outside of central Poland are opening up to employees from other regions by offering remote or hybrid work models, enabling access to a wider candidate market. Demand for specialists also depends on companies' ability to adapt to changing market conditions and offer competitive salaries and benefits, comments Agnieszka Niebutkowska, Sector Manager & Team Leader at Antal Sales & Marketing.
Salaries depend on role and company profile – trends in FMCG
Trends observed in the FMCG sector indicate that the level of offered salaries depends on the role, level of responsibility, experience, and the location and scale of the company’s operations, as well as its international structure. International companies offer higher salaries and more attractive benefits compared to local firms. Passive candidates often add a premium to their financial expectations to mitigate the risk associated with changing jobs. For managerial candidates, additional benefits such as a company car for private use are crucial. Hybrid work is also becoming the standard, and the lack of such flexibility in an organization limits its recruitment capabilities.
A growing number of candidates want to work in hybrid roles. Companies that do not offer such opportunities lose access to a larger pool of candidates, as most prefer hybrid work and are not interested in 100% office-based work, adds Agnieszka Niebutkowska, Sector Manager & Team Leader at Antal Sales & Marketing.
