These specialists in transport and logistics are the most lacking. For whom is 2022 a year of increases?
According to the 11th edition of the Antal Salary Report, the average monthly salary of specialists and managers in the logistics industry amounted to PLN 12,164 gross, which means an increase by 21% compared to the previous edition of the report. The area of purchasing logistics and operations was one of the most diverse on the market in terms of remuneration trends.
Most sought-after specialists in the market
Logistics is not just a key segment of the economy but also a dynamically developing market. Its significance increases as technological progress brings modern solutions that facilitate the flow of goods. Furthermore, in the digital age, consumer expectations are ever-growing; they demand fast, punctual deliveries, which requires efficient supply chain management. Equally important is the constant desire to increase operational efficiency, making work in the logistics sector challenging but also incredibly satisfying. Globally, Poland becomes a significant link in logistics. Due to its strategic location, it acts as a crucial communication hub connecting Western Europe with the East, making our country a significant player on the logistics world map. With its extensive infrastructure and effective management, Poland can boast the title of the leader in the logistics sector in Eastern Europe.
Under these circumstances, the job market for specialists in this sector is stable and forward-looking. Companies increasingly appreciate the importance of skilled workers who can meet the challenges of modern logistics. As a result, for those with the right skills and knowledge, the doors to a career in this field are wide open.
The most desired candidates in the logistics sector today are those responsible for defining and implementing optimization processes that cover service levels, transport execution time, and cost reductions. "Logistics companies also place a strong emphasis on automation, aiming at maximizing efficiency, safety, and logistics process optimization," says Agnieszka Grzegorczyk, Team Leader, Antal Engineering & Operations.
Skills of the ideal candidate
Employers expect a potential employee to have an excellent knowledge of a foreign language (English and another one besides English), proficient use of MS Office suite, experience in the same or similar position, higher education in a related field, knowledge of SAP R3 or GBS software. The candidate should be open-minded, communicative, eager for continuous development and learning, committed to assigned tasks, and reliable. Effective self-organization, independence, multitasking ability, quick decision-making skills, teamwork orientation, goal-driven mindset, and analytical thinking are key.
Demand for all services related to transport is continuously growing. Therefore, logistics is a field that will keep evolving. Proper preparation for the profession is essential, so instead of wondering how much a logistician earns, every future specialist in the described field should consider what characteristics a good employee in this field has. It's worth noting that lack of predispositions doesn't mean that the path to pursuing the profession is closed - adds Agnieszka Grzegorczyk, Team Leader, Antal Engineering & Operations.
