Once a product has been manufactured, it must be transported, delivered and stored. Logistics deals with everything that makes these processes run smoothly. Which specialists in this industry are most in demand on the market and what salary can they count on?
Specialists most in demand on the market
Logistics is a fast-growing market. With technological progress, growing consumer expectations and the desire to increase efficiency, work in the industry is both exciting and also very demanding. Poland is in a very favorable logistics and transport position, and at the same time operates extremely effectively. It is the largest logistics sector in Eastern Europe. Due to the huge size of this career field, there is a fairly constant demand for qualified logistics specialists.
The most desirable candidates in the field of logistics today are people responsible for defining and implementing optimization processes that include service level, transport lead time and cost reductions. Logistics companies also put a very strong emphasis on automation, which aims to maximize efficiency, safety and optimization of logistics processes. - says Agnieszka Grzegorczyk, Team Leader, Antal Engineering & Operations.
Competences of the ideal candidate
Employers expect from a potential employee, first of all, a very good knowledge of a foreign language (English and other than English), fluent use of MS Office programs, experience in the same or a similar position, higher education, knowledge of SAP R3 or GBS. The candidate should be characterized by openness, communicativeness, willingness to continuous development and learning, commitment to entrusted tasks and reliability. The key is good organization of own work, independence, readiness to perform several tasks at the same time, the ability to make quick decisions, the ability to work in a team, focus on achieving goals and the ability to think analytically.
The demand for all services related to transport is constantly growing. Therefore, logistics is a field that will continue to develop. Proper preparation for the profession is extremely important, so every future specialist in the described field, instead of asking how much a logistician earns, should think about what qualities a good employee in this field is characterized by. It should be noted that the lack of predisposition does not mean that the road to practice the profession is closed. - adds Agnieszka Grzegorczyk, Team Leader, Antal Engineering & Operations.
